CALAIS - FRANCE
Day trip
- 5:30 am – Depart from either Southall or Hounslow in West London. Make sure to get there on time to avoid missing the ferry.
- 9:00 am – Arrive in Dover and board the ferry to Calais. The journey across the Channel takes approximately 90 minutes.
- 10:30 am – Arrive in Calais and head straight to the Cité Europe shopping mall. This modern shopping centre is home to over 140 stores, including popular international brands like Zara, H&M, and Sephora. Take your time exploring and picking up some bargains.
- 3:30 pm – Once you’ve finished at Cité Europe, head to a wine superstore or hypermarket. France is known for its wine, and this is your chance to pick up some bottles at a great price. The hypermarkets offer a wide range of goods, including wine, cheese, and other French delicacies.
- 4:30 pm – After a day of shopping, it’s time to head back to the ferry terminal for the journey back to Dover on a 6.30 pm ferry
- 7:30 pm – Arrive back in Dover and begin the journey back to West London. You should aim to be back by around 9:00 pm.
- This itinerary gives you more time to explore Cité Europe and take advantage of the many shopping opportunities there. You’ll still have time to visit a wine superstore or hypermarket, but you won’t be rushed. Just make sure to keep an eye on the time so you don’t miss your ferry back to Dover!
